A Chinese brand Xiaomi has been launching smartphones powered by snapdragon chipset in 2018. Recent report about xiaomi suggests the company is going to launch the smartphones powered by MediaTek Helio P60 chipset in Q2 of 2018. The MediaTek Helio P60 was launched in MWC 2018. Reports also says that Xiaomi may introduce another smartphone powered by MediaTek’s next 12nm chipset, probably called as Helio P70.
Oppo already used this MediaTek P60 in Oppo R15 which launched recently. With the Helio P60, MediaTek wants to take on the mighty Qualcomm. The report claimed that MediaTek could see as much as $60 billion in revenue generated in Q2 2018, making it the highest in the past six quarters.As a successor to the Helio P23 and Helio P30, the new processor is claimed to deliver up to 70 percent of CPU performance boost over the former SoCs. Additionally, it is claimed to be 12 percent more power efficient overall and up to 25 percent more power efficient in highly demanding games compared to the Helio P23.
